Kid Cudi presents ‘HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA’ MIXTAPE

Kid Cudi’s new show on HBO premieres this Sunday “Valentine’s Day.” Until then, you can cozy up to his new mixtape where he chimes in throughout the mix to talk about the cast and the show. I think this is an ingenious way of allowing Cudi to express his feelings of the show and his eclectic taste in music. With a great ensemble of indie/hip-hop songs from Phoenix to Lupe, you just can’t go wrong. Hit the jump for the mix!

DAN BLACK FT. KID CUDI – SYMPHONIES

SHE WOLF (VILLAINS RMX)

Both incredibly hawt remixes. I think she just single-handedly changed the connotation of She-Wolf forever……AROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

MSTRKRFT – HRTBRKR (WOLFGANG GARTNER RMX)

LOCALS ONLY: MIGHT

Ryan Britt hit me up with a little something to make me smile but I’ll let him do the talking.

“Known as Might, he resides in the O.C./L.A. area which automatically emerges him in a dynamic, ever-growing melting pot filled with a wide array of influential musical artists; however, this also stimulates a very rough competitive atmosphere.

With artists constantly submitting pieces onto the Internet, well-developed songs became a rarity. With influences ranging from classics Diana Ross and Elton John to the funky, catchy rhythmic sounds of Tortured Soul, Supertramp, and Salsoul Orchestra in addition to the good ol’ classic stylings of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, a one-of-a-kind style of music is called to order. It also brings out a more diverse crowd in today’s dominantly electronic scene by reviving old, forgotten gems.”

My thoughts? Fucken great! Definitely feeling the vibe on these, nicely restrained, very on point! So enjoy these little gifts from our friend MIGHT:

Give Me a Kiss – Paradox LXXX (MIGHT Remix)

FUCK TODAY

So here is a track that got released yesterday. It’s supposedly a leftover track that did not make the cut on Rebirth. This one describes something that we’re all probably very familiar with – a shitty day. So grab your Jim Beam, turn this shit up, and break something.

Lil Wayne ft. Gudda – Fuck Today (Rebirth Mix)

MAKE THE GIRL DANCE – KILL ME

Flying to NY, LA, LV and Paris, party every night, excessive swearing, boobs, punting babies, smashing guitars, snorting lines, read a bible to a doll, playing piano naked, helicopter rides, watch porn in airplanes, shooting guns, jumping out of planes, get a new haircut, do kungfu naked on a deserted highway, shoot guns, and snort some more lines. This is a great video.

CASSETTE KIDS

Australia’s newest great export – Cassette Kids. They have been causing a ruckus in the Sydney music scene and with their unique sound they have been turning heads with a show that brims with style, vigor, and passion. They’re only just breaking into their stride and after whipping up stages all over the country on The Presets’ sold-out national tour, they’re currently kicking off their national tour promoting their debut ‘mini’ album ‘We Are’.

“Lying Around” is a super catchy pop tune that stirs up a little bit of The Sounds vs. Gwen Stefani.

DESIGNER DRUGS – DATAMIX 7

Designer Drugs have released the latest edition of their DATAMIX mixtape series: DATAMIX 7! These are always ball bursting banger filled mixes with all fun all the time as the theme. Get this shit.

For those who watch Skins, it’s totally worth seeing this promo video of the fourth season ― which premiered yesterday ― featuring DD’s track Drop Down.

GORILLAZ

Remember when the Gorillaz announced they were done recording new music? Well, they’re back and in full force and they’ll be headlining Coachella!!!!! Pretty impressive lineup in their upcoming album “Plastic Beach” with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Mos Def and Lou Reed to name a few. Album due out March 8th. The track that is available is “Stylo” and it’s a lot different from their previous stuff. It’s much more darker and twisted, like a Saturday Night Fever soundtrack on ecstasy(MDMA). If you’re a Gorillaz fan, you will definitely be excited for this album and all that it has to offer.
